Dr. Katherine Mathes
Dr. Mathes graduated from Purdue University and moved to Texas in 1995. After practicing for almost 5 years in emergency medicine, she has centered her career on the compassionate care of pets and their families.
Spare time is spent with her with her husband and daughter, as well as sweeping up fur from her 3 cats ~ Johnny, Marmalade, and Amelia. Dr. Mathes holds memberships in the American Veterinary Medical Association, Collin County Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. She also is Fear Free certified and Cat Friendly certified.
Dr. Kelly Shiplov
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Kelly Shiplov graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. After practicing for a year in Richmond, Virginia, she and her husband moved to Texas to be closer to family. She is married to Brian, who is also a veterinarian. They have three children: Katie, Ben, and Elliot. They also have two scruffy dogs, a one-eyed cat, and a fish.
Dr. Shiplov enjoys internal medicine and preventative care and believes strongly in supporting the human/animal bond. She is Fear Free Certified.
Dr. Tara Moll
Veterinarian
Dr. Tara Moll graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She returned to the Dallas area with her husband to be close to their families. Their fur family currently stars Josie, a mini Australian Shepherd, and her five pussycats.
Dr. Moll previously worked in shelter medicine but missed seeing her patients grow throughout their lifetime. She particularly enjoys soft tissue surgery and preventive care. She loves educating pet parents to help them best care for their pets at all life stages. Dr. Moll is excited to be Fear Free Certified and help her patients enjoy coming to the vet.
Heather C.
Practice Manager
Heather is the practice manager with Allen Family Vet, who joined us in January 2021. Her creativity and leadership skills have been a great contribution to the clinic, playing a vital role in our day-to-day operations. Her career in the veterinary field began in 2011, when she started as a veterinary technician at a specialty hospital in Dallas, where she got her training in oncology and internal medicine and ventured into management at a vet hospital in Wylie, Texas.
She is very passionate about her job and has such a strong love for animals and can’t imagine not being able to work with pets. She enjoys meeting our clients, getting to know them, and loving on their pets that come in to see us. Heather and her husband live in Plano with their pitbull, Tom and cat, Wendy. When she is not working, you will find her spending time with her husband, spoiling her niece and nephews, or crafting at home.

I’ve always had a love for animals. I’ve always known that animals have the best souls and that you should treasure them. I have 12 years of experience in this field. I wanted to be in a position that I felt passionate about and that also felt rewarding at the end of the day. I also wanted to be a voice for the animals. When I am not working, I enjoy working out, watching movies, going boating, swimming, and hanging out with friends

Bailie
Bailie was born and raised in McKinney, Texas, and has been working in the veterinary field since 2022. Prior to joining Allen Family Vet, she gained valuable experience at a holistic practice in Plano, where she developed an appreciation for integrative and natural approaches to veterinary medicine.
Bailie has a special interest in working with rabbits, cats, and—her favorite dog breed—Golden Retrievers. She is passionate about providing compassionate care and building strong connections with both patients and their owners.
Outside of work, Bailie enjoys spending time at home with her fiancé and her two kittens, Snooki (a long-haired calico) and Pawly D (an orange tabby). She also loves relaxing with online gaming or binge-watching her favorite nostalgic early-2000s sitcoms.

Veterinary Technician
Erin grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana. She went to Purdue University, where she studied animal science and was a part of the Veterinary Technology Distance Learning Program. She knew at a young age that a career that centered around animals was her goal. She has been a veterinary technician for 19 years, 10 of those years has been with Allen Family Vet and she is Fear Free Certified. She has 2 cats, Walter and Milton and are always up to some kind of trouble. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, spending time with friends and spending time in the sun.

Katie has worked in and around the veterinary field for over 8 years, with hands-on experience as both a technician and a receptionist. She is very passionate about high quality vet care and pet care education. She takes her work home with her as a loving owner of several cats, birds, and even a few fish. Outside of work Katie is a long time resident of North Texas and a busy mom.
Savannah S.
I grew up with both cats and dogs. I’ve got a huge love for dogs they all have different personalities and appreciate the simple things – new toy, a walk, or a piece of ice. I’m a high school graduate and continuing education through college currently. The veterinary industry was something I fell into and I love being able to learn and grow in this environment. Outside of the office I like to Hang out with friends and family walking my dogs with my younger brother and soccer. Some other interesting facts about me are I love shopping in my small town and seeing all of the old historic buildings.

With 20 years of experience in the veterinary field, Shelby brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to his role as a technician. His favorite part of being a tech is talking with clients and listening closely to their concerns about their pets, ensuring both pets and their families feel heard and supported. He has a special fondness for English Bulldogs and enjoys working with this lovable breed. Clients can always expect a helping hand, compassionate care, and a commitment to supporting them every step of the way.

Since I was little, I have loved animals and wanted to care for them. I really enjoy learning about how animals’ bodies work and the different ways to figure out issues the animal is having. I still have a lot to learn as I have only had about a year and a half of experience. My love for animals and interest in caring for them. My two-year-old son Elijah is my world! We love to spend time with his cousins, aunts/uncles, grandparents, and great-grandparents!
